I've been doing marketing for startups and tech companies since 19 years old, about a year after I started at Northeastern University. My first gig was copywriting and merchandising for a small ecommerce team. I uploaded over 2,000 products to their site and focused on SEO. They were acquired for $3.2 million shortly after I left to work at HubSpot.
Working at HubSpot got me huge exposure to the world of tech and just about every piece of inbound marketing you could imagine. Within 15 months I had became the in-house landing page creation and optimization specialist, managed social media channels with a combined reach of 900,000 people, oversaw the company adwords account, and edited a new blog they had acquired (AgencyPost). Watching the team grow from 430 to 870 employees was exciting, but in tandem with graduating from Northeastern in 2014 it was time for something new.
My next move was to InsightSquared, a great company building cutting edge sales analytics. There I was the free apps manager initially managing 4 free apps responsible for 30% of the company's inbound leads, and within a year I headed up the launch of 2 more apps. About halfway through my time there I transitioned into a Paid Marketing Manager role, and put together their paid acquisition strategy for a new account-based marketing model.
In February 2016 I joined BrackenData as the founding team's first hire, and took their clinical trial intelligence tools to market.. Within 8 months I built our contact database to over 12,000 names, wrote web content that engaged with over 7,000 unique users, and generated and gave 82 inbound software demos.
This year, the work at BrackenData has gotten bigger and badder. We've launched Bracken Marketing, a marketing agency that replicates our proven tech-style marketing process to drive revenue growth for other life sciences teams.
